After many year of working together Denise Large & Sophie Veats have joined forces to form Ye-Ha Productions.
Denise Large
Denise is widely recognised as one of the leading live outside broadcast directors.
She has worked as programme director/producer on the award winning Channel 4 Racing for the last 20 years, where she was awarded a BAFTA and four nominations for the coverage.
In 2015 she was awarded the multi camera director RTS Award for the Grand National event. Since 2020 Denise has directed the prestigous Saudi Cup from Riyadh, the richest horse race in the world. This year she celebrated being back at Royal Ascot to direct the world feed coverage for HBA Media.
Amongst her other credits are the BBC’s coverage of the Burghley Horse Trials, the North American Show Jumping League for FEi, the 2006 European Eventing Championships from Blenheim and Olympia Horse Show for Eurosport. NHK’s Wimbledon coverage, the UK Indoor athletics Championship for Channel 4, World Canoe Slalom Championships BBC/World Feed, RTE Producer/Director Racing Ireland.
She has for the last two years directed the series of Longines League of Nations show jumping around the world.
Denise had the honour of directing the Queen’s funeral coverage for ITN and directed the King’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey.
In 2024 she was lead director for the Equestrian Coverage at the Paris Olympic games in Versailles.
She trained at ITV and her career extends into Light Entertainment including, Question Time, The Big Breakfast and Have I got News For You.
Sophie Veats
Sophie has worked extensively in sports production for the last 25 years.
Her pioneering days as features producer on Sumo Wrestling and Series producer of Trash Talk the NFL Magazine show for Channel 4 set her apart as one of the most creative and innovative in her field.
She was soon head hunted to work on – The Tour De France (C4 & ITV) which she worked on for 15 years, producer of The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (to-date) and the European Championships from Blenheim (BBC).
Some of her many other credits include the Winter Paralympics in Tignes in 1992, her NY Film Festival award for her Winter Paralympic programmes from Lillehammer in 1994, the acclaimed Sydney Paralympics in 2000 (C4), Winter Paralympics in Torino in 2006 and her 3 part series on the Special Olympics in Glasgow in 2005 (BBC Scotland).
Other sports she has regularly produced on are – Indoor Track Cycling (ICF world feed), Tennis inc. US Open Tennis (SKY) and Wimbledon for BBC, Olympia Horse Show & White Water Rafting (Eurosport).
She was Series Producer of the live magazine show “The Morning Line” for C4 Racing and in addition she has produced many of the afternoon racing shows including the Ebor Festival at York. She has been lead creative producer on the Saudi Cup for the last six years. She produced the Crown Jewels Racing programme from Royal Ascot this year which had a world wide audience.
Most recently she produced coverage for OBS at the Paris Olympics in the Equestrian sports from Versailles.
